Representatives of the Ministry of Education participated in the Study Visit to Denmark on “Quality assurance in assessment” organized in the framework of EU funded project “Support to Implementation of National Qualification Framework in Azerbaijan” on November 18-22, 2019.
Representatives from the Education Institute under the Ministry of Education (ME) Mr. Anar Naghiyev and Mr. Valeh Mirzaliyev, from the Accreditation Office under the ME Mr. Nariman Gahramanli, from the State Agency on Vocational Education under the ME Mr. Royal Yolchuzada, from the University of Economics Mr. Ragif Gasimov, and from the NQF Project Mr. Emil Asgarov, Ms. Aynur Karimova and Ms. Mehpara Ahmadova participated in the Study Visit on November 18-22, 2019.
The main objective of the Study Visit was familiarisation with the experiences and practices related to quality assurance in assessment. Expected results were i) to gain new knowledge and insights into the education system in Denmark; ii) exchange of experiences and practices related to the quality assurance in assessment; iii) to gain information about quality assurance mechanisms used in all levels of educational system in Denmark.
Participants have conducted successful meetings during the Study Visit with: i) Ministry of Children and Education; ii) Ministry of Higher Education and Science; iii) National Agency for Education and Quality Assurance; iv) National Agency for IT and Learning; v) Copenhagen Adult Education Centre; vi) Danish Accreditation Institute; vii) Agency for Institutions and Educational Grants; viii) Zealand Institute of Business and Technology; ix) ZBC, Centre for Vocational Education in Slagelse; x) Sector Committee for VET within Service Industry; xi) Danish Evaluation Institute; xii) Copenhagen Preparatory Basic Education Institute. Bodil Husted, Associate Professor of VIA University College (Aarhus) presented Denmark’s experience in validation of prior learning and upskilling pathways.
“Support to Implementation of National Qualification Framework in Azerbaijan” project is funded by the European Union to assist the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan through the provision of technical assistance. The main objective of the project is to enhance the quality and relevance of the education and training system in Azerbaijan supporting economic diversification, creating opportunities for lifelong learning, and fulfilling the Education Development Strategy in line with European and international best practice. The specific objectives of the project are i) To ensure effective implementation of NQF; ii) To introduce relevant education standards in pilot sectors; iii) To ensure education standards support competency-based education provision; iv) To improve access to lifelong learning through flexible provision, alternative progression pathways and recognition of prior learning; v) To improve assessment and QA of assessment and certification processes; vi) To provide effective information and guidance for employers/sectors, providers and learners to use the NQF. The 30-months project is implemented by GOPA Worldwide Consultants as lead consultancy company in a consortium with British Council (BC), European Project Management Ltd (EPM) and SEFT Consulting.
