On the 12th of March, as well as 3rd and 10th of April, 2019 three Expert Group Meetings on Career Guidance and Counselling were held within the framework of the project "Support to Implementation of National Qualification Framework in Azerbaijan" (NQF), funded by the European Union and implemented jointly with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main objective of the meetings was to get consultations /intellectual support/advice/up-to-dated information and to be sure, that project’s activities are in line with the needs of service providers and ongoing development processes in the provision of the guidance services in Azerbaijan.
The central topics of guidance and counselling system of guidance system of guidance stakeholders presented and discussed during three meetings with Expert Group - Parallel interests; components of guidance system; national forum; career education in general education; career guidance in higher education and VET and etc.
On the request of some Experts Group members expanded presentation on the several topics of guidance and counselling system were presented by Mrs. Aleksandra Joma, KE3 of the project during the 2nd meeting. During each meeting, Expert’s Group members had an opportunity to express their opinions/view/to make proposals on aspects /components presented by KE3. Expert’s opinions mostly were supportive to the concept presented by KE3.
Representatives of Education Institute, Ministry of Education, Accreditation and Nostrification Office, VET Agency, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs /Employers (ASK), State Employment Service, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Institute for Professional Development of Education Staff (TIPII), Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and State Pedagogical College attended the workshops.
“Support to Implementation of National Qualification Framework in Azerbaijan” project is funded by the European Union to assist the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan through the provision of technical assistance. The main objective of the project is to enhance the quality and relevance of the education and training system in Azerbaijan supporting economic diversification, creating opportunities for lifelong learning, and fulfilling the Education Development Strategy in line with European and international best practice. The specific objectives of the project are i) To ensure effective implementation of NQF; ii) To introduce relevant education standards in pilot sectors; iii) To ensure education standards support competency-based education provision; iv) To improve access to lifelong learning through flexible provision, alternative progression pathways and recognition of prior learning; v) To improve assessment and QA of assessment and certification processes; vi) To provide effective information and guidance for employers/sectors, providers and learners to use the NQF. The 30-months project is implemented by GOPA Worldwide Consultants as lead consultancy company in a consortium with British Council (BC), European Project Management Ltd (EPM) and SEFT Consulting.
